Jim, as senior counsel with NETZEL GRIGSBY ASSOCIATES, INC., has 30 years of experience in nonprofit executive management and fund development. Most recently, Jim served as Vice President of Administration for the Santa Barbara Foundation, providing operational oversight for the $230 million community foundation. Prior to joining the foundation, Jim was President & CEO of Visiting Nurse and Hospice Care of Santa Barbara. During his tenure there, he significantly improved the organization’s provision of cost effective services, implemented a point-of-service clinical documentation system, developed an annual giving program, and completed a $2.4 million capital campaign for a facility purchase. Jim began his career in nonprofit management as a United Way professional in both Ventura and Santa Barbara counties.

Jim currently serves as Treasurer of the board for the Museum of Ventura County and is an appointed member of the Cultural Affairs Commission for the City of Ventura. Prior community involvement includes Ventura County AIDS Partnership, Santa Barbara Hispanic Achievement Council, Hutton Foundation, United Way of Santa Barbara County, Santa Barbara Downtown Rotary, and El Concilio.

Jim received his Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Otis College of Art and Design in Los Angeles.
